Founded by the Fernández Rivera family in the early 1990s, the château-concept Condado de Haza offers a fascinating exploration of the terroir of Ribera del Duero. The vineyards are huddled close to the winery, which was dug directly into a hillside in a cooler northern part of the appellation, in the Burgos province. Produced with the same techniques and expertise as Pesquera, the vineyards here produce a more taut, structured style of Tempranillo.
