The Abruzzo region, made famous by Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wines, lies in the centre of Italy with the East coast on the Adriatic Sea. A mountainous region with a warm climate, the majority of wines from this area are largely unremarkable, despite the favourable growing conditions, due in part to the very high production limits. However some very good wines can still be found with a bit of concerted digging!
