Winemaker note:
“A dry winter left the vines struggling to find water. This reduced fruit set in all varietals, especially Zinfandel. From the thirty-eight parcels were harvested from 1st September to 5th October and fermented separately. Thirty-four were selected, including vines planted in 1901 and eighty-year-old Counoise inter-planted with Cinsault. Enjoyable now, this beautiful, complex wine will continue to develop over the next ten years and beyond.”
Wines are expected to land Autumn 2023.

When Paul Draper retired from Ridge in 2016 there was some concern for the estate’s future, seven years later, under the stewardship of John Olney, Ridge wines are as good as ever.If you want California in a glass look no further than these wonderful Ridge Zinfandels.While conveying sunshine and ripe fruit, these wines do have a serious side to them and are relatively restrained compared to Zinfandels from some other producers.These can be appreciated today, but will develop greater complexity over the next 5-10 years.
