Italy is a wonderful patchwork quilt of a country with incredible regionality and local traditions. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the rich profusion of indigenous grape varieties that grace the slopes and plains of many of Italy's wine-producing regions. While wine production dates back centuries, it wasn't until relatively recently that a wave of producers set new benchmarks for fine Italian Wines. Whether you like a more modernist or traditionalist approach, international or indigenous varieties, the Italian wine scene has never been more exciting.

"The 2020 Barolo Villero offers up scents of pipe tobacco, spice, new leather, menthol and licorice. This is a pretty elegant, translucent style for the Villero, but one that works quite well.
