ProducerDomaine de la Pousterle

In 2016, in the heart of the Luberon, Provence, the Strassers acquired Domaine de la Pousterle with its unique terroir of 15 hectares in one plot, resting on sandy matrices composed of silt and clay. In 2020, the vineyard was certified organic, respecting this terroir with a Mediterranean climate and strong thermal amplitude. Their old vines from Rhône and some southerly grape varieties such as Rolle, also known as Vermentino, inspire a style between subtlety of texture and contemporary interpretation of the AOP Luberon. Grenache slowly matures on the higher slopes, to produce full ripe fruit flavours and structured wines.

The Rhone Valley stretches almost 500 miles from North to South and is home to some of France's oldest vine plantings that were first cultivated in Roman Times. The region is split into Northern and Southern Rhone, both of which are very contrasting regions. From the North, the appellations of Hermitage and Cote Rotie produce some of the most famous and rare wines from Syrah, harvested from the very steep slopes carved into the hillsides. It is also here that the world's best Viognier is produced from the Condrieu appellation.
