Drinking 2019-2032Their vineyard doesn’t get as much afternoon sun as some others which helps their Corton Charlemagne retain more freshness. The nose conveys concentrated white fruit hidden by that fresh acidity. Really lovely in the mouth, lots of “matiere” combined with perfectly ripened fruit, great balance and length. Drink from 2022.

Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy’s greatest estates. The wines are made for ageing but in recent years, since Hubert’s son Etienne has taken over, the Domaine has moved towards expressing greater aromatic potential in the wines. The Domaine has moved progressively towards organic and now biodynamic methods working in closer harmony with nature. The wines still benefit from ageing and develop an abundance of complexity as they mature.
