A spontaneous smile on the nose! Such fragrance, it is instantly evocative of violets and blackcurrants. There is real tension here. A bit of an alchemical creation of balance whereby the intensity is there and the fruit is undoubtedly dark, yet it is so vibrant and lifted with high pitched tones. Tremendous mouthfeel as it glides across the palate. Elegance and power combine. This Palmer is utterly vivacious and energetic in its drive, with a finish that will leave you salivating for more. Incredible. There is a purity and essence of fruit at the core which then has all the other elements of fruit, flesh and tannin built on top. I could still taste the violets in my mouth in the car as we left the Estate. Score: 19
