Usually the most sought after of the Grands Crus and the 2011 should be no exception. Green and silver flecked in the glass this is instantly inviting. Fresh lime and ripe plums with a whoosh of sherbert. There is a bit of everything here, fruit, white flowers, spice and zest ping out of the glass. In the mouth it is extremely complex, but incredibly precise and harmonious. More ripe, juicy fruit, more spice, lovely limey zest, toasted nuts, honey, there is a mass of layers, but as with the Preuses there is great delicacy and definition with the verve. This is serious, grown up Chablis. It has poise and gravitas alongside delicacy and alluring elegance. A joyful Les Clos, this has great finesse and should not be missed. Drink 2015-2025.
