Careful sorting of the 2014 vintage resulted in a 40% reduction in the crop, so Gianluca Grasso has chosen to produce a blend of his famous Gavarini and Chiniera Crus. After careful nurturing, and separate vinification, the resulting small super-cuvée is the quintessence of elegant Barolo. This blend is a real insider’s buy, and we urge you not to miss out. Galloni is effusive in his praise, calling it “a beautiful wine that captures the personality of the vintage. Lithe, perfumed and aromatic, the 2014 exudes class from start to finish”

Whilst they are famous for their Baroli, do not overlook the full range of wines at the estate. The Barbera and Dolcetto were stars of our recent Italian tasting; providing visceral thrills, as well as a true reflection of place for modest amounts of money. These wines are very much stars in their own right.
