Between them, Michel and his son Frédéric have an encyclopaedic knowledge of historic vintages in Burgundy and their insight and experience is always fascinating. Frédéric reported that Michel has never tasted such an exuberant, joyful vintage as the 2016. But he was swift to elaborate that it is not just a case of instant gratification with this vintage, for it has the nerve, minerality and complexity that makes it one of those rare vintages that shows both beauty and intellect.

Wines from the Burgundy 2016 vintage are likely to be genuine collectors’ items in future. The quantity of wines available is extremely limited and those we have secured allocations of are selling very quickly. We don't expect to see many of these wines on restaurant lists in the future or brought along to enjoy at private tastings. Now is the time to purchase a case or two.
